With their fifth studio album 'Arirang,' BTS has captured the top spots on significant weekly charts both domestically and worldwide.
Hanteo Chart, a platform that tracks album sales, reported on the 30th that BTS's latest album 'Arirang' claimed the number one position on the weekly global and album charts (tracking dates: March 23-29). Remarkably, the album reached this position during the third week of March, a mere three days following its release on the 20th, and it retained this position for two consecutive weeks.

An article preview by American music publication Billboard, dated the 30th, disclosed that 'Arirang' secured the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart (issue date April 4). The album entered with 641,000 album units, establishing the highest weekly performance for a group album since unit tracking began in December 2014. Of these units, a substantial 532,000 constituted pure album sales, both physical and digital, setting a new benchmark for group album sales in over ten years.
BTS also achieved significant success on global music platforms. They dominated weekly charts on Spotify, a leading audio and music streaming service, during the period from March 20-26. This includes topping categories like 'Weekly Top Albums', 'Weekly Top Songs', and 'Weekly Top Artists' on a global scale. Specifically, the title track 'SWIM' claimed the number one spot on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global', with all 14 tracks from the album occupying positions in the top 30.
The song 'SWIM' maintained its leading position on Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' and Apple Music's 'Top 100 Global' charts for 9 and 7 days, respectively, covering March 20-28 and March 23-29. Importantly, every track from the album appeared in the recent chart listings on both platforms, illustrating enduring popularity even ten days post-release. This widespread acclaim from global music enthusiasts underscores the album's success.
In the meantime, BTS is set to perform the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'' at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, scheduled for April 9, 11, and 12. The group will continue with stadium concerts throughout South America in October, visiting countries such as Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. Notably, all 46 scheduled performances, spanning Goyang, North America, Europe, and Tokyo, Japan, sold out rapidly, highlighting the immense demand for their concert tickets.
